At From Little Things, we truly believe that big things grow. We understand that many individuals face difficulties with learning and accessing the education system. With over 28 years of experience and having worked with learners with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and those within mainstream provision we have an excellent understanding of barriers to learning. Our practice and approach is founded on both Attachment Aware and Trauma Informed methodologies.
We strive to create a learning environment that is inclusive, collaborative, and supportive. We recognise that every individual has unique talents and strengths, and we aim to help our students discover and develop their full potential as well as improve their confidence through our specialist teacher tutoring service.
From Little Things is run by Jenny Scott. She is a Modern Languages graduate and now a specialist teacher for dyslexia with over 28 years experience within Primary, Secondary, Further and Adult Education. Jenny has worked as a tutor, teaching assistant, intervention specialist and inclusive learning advisor. Having worked with whole classes, small groups and 1:1. Jenny is committed to providing the best supportive tutoring service possible. Graduating in 1994; with a BA (Joint Honours) in Modern Languages and Literature, following further study she gained a Postgraduate Certificate in Education. Jenny has recently completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Attachment, Trauma and Mental Health and a Postgraduate Diploma in Dyslexia Research and Practice at the University of Chester. Jenny is an Associate member of the British Dyslexia Association (AMBDA) and Professional member of Patoss.
We can offer dyslexia assessment for individuals aged 16 years and above.
We are able to assess for Disabled Student Allowance and Exam Access Arrangements.
We can deliver bespoke dyslexia tuition which is founded on multisensory teaching suited to the learner boosting literacy skills and confidence and delivered by a specialist teacher.
Quality tuition is available for those undertaking GCSE English Language examinations.
Interactive tuition is available in Spanish from beginner to advanced level for all ages.
As specialists we can provide guidance to educational settings wishing to learn more about Specific Learning Differences (SpLDs) and how to best meet the needs of learners ensuring practice is Attachment Aware and Trauma Informed.
